1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Ancestral Brain ("the Software"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Software.

2. License

Subject to payment and these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use one copy of Ancestral Brain per machine you own or control. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the Software.

The access and portability packages are separately released under the MIT License — see their respective LICENSE files.

3. Free trial

The Software may be used free of charge for 14 calendar days from first install. After the trial period, a license purchase is required to continue use. No credit card is required during the trial.

4. Payment and updates

A one-time purchase of $79 USD grants a perpetual license to use the purchased version and all updates released within 12 months of your purchase date. After 12 months, the Software continues to work — you simply don't receive new updates without purchasing an upgrade.

5. Refunds

If the Software doesn't work on your hardware and we can't fix it within 14 days of your report, we'll issue a full refund. No other refunds are provided except where required by law.

6. Your data

You retain all rights to your data. Ancestral Brain processes your files locally on your machine. We have no access to your data, Brain index, or AI conversations.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DATA LOSS, HARDWARE DAMAGE, OR ANY INDIRECT DAMAGES.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.
